AK98® HR

AK98® HR │ The cost-effective alternative to synthetic Magnesium Oxide

AK98® HR is a natural, high purity, calcined magnesium oxide, extremely low in impurities (low-acid insoluble) and undesirable substances. It is processed under carefully controlled conditions to give a finely divided white powder with a high and uniform reactivity index.

Main Uses & Advantages

AK98® HR is the cost-effective alternative to synthetic Magnesium Oxide grades, having the additional advantage of a very low iron content (typical Fe2O3 content 0,03%).

AK98® HR is perfectly suited to a diverse and wide range of high-end, industrial & chemical applications. These include, the manufacturing of various magnesium salts/compounds, catalysts and catalyst supports for the petrochemical industry, rubber & plastics, fuel/oil additives, high-tech ceramic formulations, pulp & paper/bleaching process and other specialties.

Certain physical properties of AK98® HR (specific surface area/reactivity and particle size) may be adjusted to customers’ specific requirements.

Packaging & Storage

AK98® HR is available in powder form: In big bags (800 kg for -325 mesh, 900 kg for -200 mesh product) with inner nylon and bottom spout. In 20 kg paper bags with PE-liner on pallets.

AK98® HR has a shelf life of 12 months provided that the product is stored in a clean dry storage area under proper conditions and protected from moisture with PE-foil. Magnesium oxide rapidly attracts moisture from air and forms lumps. Always re-seal full, partly used pallets and single bags with PE-foil.
