Main Uses & Advantages

R5 is widely used for the production of fertilizer grade magnesium nitrate. It is also suitable as animal feed (Mg source or pH buffer in ruminants) and as an MgO source in the production of high temperature mineral wools for thermal, sound and fire insulation.

R5 is available in various grain sizes; from fine powder (-45 μm) to granular (0-35 mm).

Packaging & Storage

R5 is available: in bulk (only for granular material). In big bags, with or without bottom spout. In 25kg paper bags on pallets, wrapped up with plastic film (only for ground material). To be stored in a cool and dry area.

Animal Nutrition

Magnesium is recognized as an essential nutrient for all species. In humans, magnesium performs an extremely important role and brings numerous health benefits. Nowadays, various biochemical and functional problems in humans i.e. heart arrhythmias, high blood pressure, diabetes and osteoporosis, muscles spasm, etc. are attributed to magnesium deficiency.

Plant Nutrition

Magnesium is an essential element for plant growth, as the central core of the chlorophyll molecule in plant tissue. If a plant is Mg deficient, the shortage of chlorophyll results in poor and stunted plant growth. Magnesium also helps to activate specific enzyme systems. Enzymes are complex substances that build, modify, or break down compounds as part of a plant's normal metabolism.

Mineral wool

Mineral wool consists of fibers containing various combinations of silicon oxide, alkali oxides and alkaline earth oxides typically produced by co-melting mineral raw materials and spinning the melt into a fiber structure. MgO is an essential component of the wool, especially in high temperature mineral wools for thermal insulation, sound insulation and fire-resistant applications.
