Half of Akdeniz plant energy needs now covered by solar energy!

Athens, Greece -- 04/11/2022 -- Grecian Magnesite S.A. (“G.M.”) is pleased to announce that the roof-type solar energy system has been successfully installed by Akdeniz Mineral Kaynaklari A.Ş. at its Kumbet plant in Turkey.

The 1.280 Tier-1 High Productive panels cover an area of 4.000 square meters, generating 845.000kWh/year of clean electricity, covering 48% of the plant’s annual needs. 

This 330K€ investment is part of the company’s broader energy efficiency strategy for the reduction of GHG (Greenhouse Gases) within its production facilities, including initiatives such as the purchase of energy from certified renewable sources, the installation of smart energy meters & sensors, the installation of active/passive harmonic filters, and more.
