Our new Optical Sorting Line for Fine Material Processing is now in production!
Athens, Greece -- July 15, 2024 -- Grecian Magnesite S.A. ("GM") proudly announces the successful commissioning of a new optical sorting line for fine materials, marking one more addition to our circular economy agenda.
The new line's commercial production began successfully at the beginning of the month. More than 2.500 metric tons of pre-concentrated magnesite have already been produced, showcasing excellent technical and operational performance as well as high product quality.
The new line will significantly enhance the processing of fine Run of Mine (RoM) fractions with a capacity of 30tph, boosting both the quantity and quality of output. These fractions are sourced from fresh production and primarily from the >50 million metric tons of fine RoM old stockpiles. The €0,7-million project is part of the Utilization of Fine RoM materials project, which featured last year the installation of an X-ray-based mineral processing line, currently fully operational.
The new line integrates innovative concepts with next-generation technologies, particularly a leading-edge optical separator optimized for materials sized 6-25mm, with high-resolution RGB camera and precise air ejection valves, ensuring superior separation performance and cost-effectiveness.
Grecian Magnesite S.A. remains dedicated to advancing its technological capabilities and enhancing its production processes to meet the evolving needs of our customers and contribute to sustainable industrial practices.
