Abrasives - Polishing stones - Rice Milling

A principal application of MOC cement - magnesium oxychloride cement - (addition of caustic calcined magnesia to MgCl₂ solutions) is in the manufacture of abrasive stones and grinding wheels. 

Due to its very high bonding strength MOC cement is largely used in the manufacture of grinding and polishing stones. In this application MOC cement is used to bond SiC grains. The main end-users are the marble, granite and mosaic processing industries.

Despite the strong competition with diamond discs and other resin bonded tools, an increased demand for Magnesia cement bonded grinding and polishing stones has been witnessed during the last years thanks to its environmental-friendly & safe to handle properties.

Another interesting and developing application is in the manufacture of special millstones for rice peeling where the ecological benefits of Magnesia cement bonded grinding and polishing stones are highly appreciated.
