Owing to our accrued expertise that dates back to 1914, the caustic calcined magnesia we produce (also called light burned or calcined - Magnesium Oxide) is generally acknowledged to be the highest quality across all its many applications due to its low impurity levels, low heavy metals & trace elements, controlled physical characteristics (reactivity, surface area etc.) and above all, consistency. 

We supply the widest range of products for a considerable spectrum of industries: animal & plant nutrition, industrial/manufacturing, chemical processing, mining & metallurgy, construction & the environment. Along with the complementary products produced by our Turkish affiliate Akdeniz Mineral Kaynaklari A.Ş., we serve practically all applications where Caustic Magnesia is used.

The Vitalmag^®, Fertilmag^®, Activemag^® series of products, widely and successfully used in animal feed, fertilizers and environmental applications, respectively or the AK98^® VHR and Floormag^® products for Ni, Co, U precipitation and industrial - decorative floors, are only a few examples. Our Deadburned Magnesia grades (also called hard burned or sintered Magnesium Oxide), due to the forsteritic CaO/SiO₂ ratio originating from the magnesite deposit, exhibit high bulk densities with low porosity and high hydration resistance. These properties are essential requirements for refractories, welding fluxes and other applications. Moreover, the very low iron content and the well-controlled physical properties and microstructure give our products a leading position in applications such as heating elements and leather tanning.

Our natural magnesium carbonate products (also called crude or raw magnesite) are of cryptocrystalline form, exhibiting extremely low amounts of Fe and Mn dissolved in their structure and are white in colour. 

Our products are sold on the market mainly as a source of MgO and Mg pasture improvements and as a fertilizer, raw material for glass and ceramics and for Mg-chemicals production.

By far the major quantity of our magnesium carbonate production is used in-house for the production of Magnesium Oxide through calcination.

With the “in-house” use of our own raw materials (DBM & Dunite) we are always in the position to provide you with superior refractory products (gunning, dry ramming, tundish coating mixes, fettling mixes, EBT fillers etc.) of consistent quality at competitive prices. Our Refractory Plant uses the latest available technologies and is equipped with a modern computerized process control to ensure reliability at all stages of production.
